Check in and check out

Check-in: A team member will be there to let you in, or you'll be given a lock box code. Please allow extra time for parking before your session starts.

Check-out: Please ensure all lights, aircon and speakers are turned off, and reset the studio to a suitable condition. You can exit through the roller door or the front door, but please make sure the roller door is closed.

Please arrive and leave on time, as we run back-to-back bookings.

Garage / roller door

The garage door is opened and closed using the round button on the wall next to the door. When leaving, please ensure the roller door is closed.

WIFI and Bluetooth

WiFi: Spicy Studios

We have two speakers available:

  • JBL PartyBox Stage 320

  • UE Boom (Boom 3)

To connect, switch the speaker to Bluetooth mode and pair it via your phone's Bluetooth settings.

AIRCON

Our aircon is upstairs in the main studio. If you do use it please make sure it is turned off when you leave.

BATHROOM AND SHOWER

Our bathroom is located on the bottom gym floor, just past the kitchen on your right. The light and fan switch is on the outside of the bathroom door.

ExtenSion CORDs and power

The gym has 2 power points on the left-hand side, plus one in the kitchen. Extension cords and power boards are available.

The main studio upstairs has four power points, plus a power board and extension cords.

All studio lighting is plug-in, so extension cords are handy if you want to move lights around.

Filtered water

Our water tap in the kitchen is filtered and ready to use. We also have cold bottles in the fridge.

Lighting & Accessories

Lighting is included in all standard bookings.

Our gear includes:

MODIFIERS: 2x strip soft boxes, 3x hex soft boxes, 1x lantern, umbrellas, spotlight snoot + gels, curved reflector.

LIGHTS: 2 x Godox flash, 2x continuous lighting, 1 x RGB light, 2x panel lights.

ACCESSORIES: 1x Canon trigger, C-stands, light stands, extension cords, reflectors.

You are welcome to move them around and change the modifiers.

Our HEX lighting down in the gym has 3 levels of brightness. The controls are on the wall next to the roller door.

Changing modifiers

When switching over the modifiers, please power off the light first. If it's been on, let it cool, the bulbs/heads can be hot.

  1. Support the modifier with one hand as you remove it.

  2. Release: press the lever on the mount, twist the modifier counter-clockwise until it stops, pull it off.

  3. Attach new modifier: line up the pins with the mount slots, push in, twist clockwise until it clicks/locks.

  4. Check it's secure with a gentle wiggle.

  5. Power the light back on.

Works the same for both continuous and flash heads.

PARKING

Please park in #4 only — this is our one allocated park in the complex. Do not park in another business's space unless discussed prior.

You can park in front of the roller door for a short time if space is available — otherwise, it's street parking.

What is included in my booking

STUDIO BOOKINGS: In every standard booking you get access to the upstairs studio, the downstairs gym, all lighting and props. This includes the kitchen, bathroom and movable wall. We have over 10 different backdrops in the studio.

GYM ONLY BOOKING: In a gym only booking you get access to the downstairs gym, kitchen, bathroom and movable wall. If you need lighting let us know on your booking and we’ll set it up for you.

Cleaning & Reset

A cleaning trolley is in the storage area of the main studio (upstairs, behind the curtain). We don't expect in-depth cleaning. The supplies are there if you need them. Please just leave the studio in a similar condition to how you found it.

We have a rubbish bin downstairs or bin bags in the cleaning trolley.

We usually reset the studio in between bookings.

STAIRS

Please keep in mind our main studio is up a set of stairs. Our gym is on the lower level.

Stairs going up into our mezzanine are not to be used other than for photos on the lower steps as there is no hand rail.

COFFEE AND FOOD

If you’re looking for good coffee, Raw Earth Organic is walking distance from our studio.

We have one silver and one gold clothing rack available.

BACKDROP REQUEST

We want the studio to suit your shoot as best we can. Let us know if you have requests for backdrops or props and we'll do our best to help.

If you get locked out or need an urgent contact during your session, please message and then call the number on your booking reminder or message us on Instagram!

  • Our dry hire option gives you access to the entire upstairs studio plus the gym space and all amenities. You can also hire the gym studio by itself, or book the studio with our in-house photographer.

  • Pets are allowed by prior approval only. Owners are fully responsible for supervision and cleaning.

    We also have a dog gate that is located across our roller door. You can pull it out and hook onto the other side of the door.

  • 1. No shoes or heels on the curve.

    2. No dragging items.

    3. No liquids, oils, glitter or confetti.

    4. No sitting or standing on the curve edge.

    5. Only tape with approval.

    6. Keep lighting stands & tripods off the curve.

    7. Clean feet and props before use.

    8. Damages or marks = repair fee.
    Any repainting or repair caused by misuse will incur a $50–$150 fee depending on severity.

  • -Respect the space and please leave the space as you found it.

    -Pack away props and wipe down any areas used. No messy props!

    -Please arrive and leave on time!

    -Turn off all lights and air-con.

  • Yes! Every standard booking includes access to all our lights, modifiers and stands (see full equipment list above). If you need lighting for a gym only booking, please let us know or select lighting as a free add on.

    We also have beautiful natural light streaming into the studio, softly diffused by sheer curtains.

    Any damage will incur a fee.
